Products description - Reduction plant
Reposition plants for plant islands in pondsNote: According to planting time we deliver again from mid-March - beginning of April. If you would like to order now, then we can include you in your order. We will deliver as soon as possible.
These plants are from our own breeding with Bioland seal. They are particularly hard preferred, winter hardy and are ideal for our floating plant islands. Without preliminary work you simply place the bales on the plant island - please do not press them in.
The following plants are available for selection: Dwarf rinse, sedge, marsh marigold, marsh forget-me-not, water mint, mimolus, buttercup, pennywort (not all varieties available)
The actual useful plants are the sedges. They produce citric acid to absorb phosphate. This reduces algae growth. The plants grow firmly on the island and root through on the underside of the island.
If you send the order, you can express your wishes with remarks, otherwise we will gladly arrange the plants for you as a suitable package for the ordered plant island.
Commercially available aquatic plants are not suitable for the islands!
Care of pond plants
The plants should be cut back to about 5cm once a year to stimulate growth and to extract as many nutrients as possible from the pond water. This is best done in autumn when the garden shrubs are also cut. At the same time, the weight is reduced to prevent the mat from sinking. In winter the mats remain in the pond, even during frost.
The price is for one plant.
