UV lamps for clear water in the pond
A must for clear pond water and a good bacteria killer for koi ponds
UV lamps prevent the growth of floating algae (green water) and, depending on their output, also disinfect the pond water, thus reducing the risk of bacterial infections. UV-C lamps, for example, which are operated using the "bypass process", are particularly effective, as are Bitron lamps from OASE. Here only a part of the water is led past the UV lamp. UV lamps in stainless steel housings are also particularly effective due to the reflection of the radiation. The wattage of the lamps should be 2 - 4 watts per m³ pond volume, depending on the fish stock.
